BREAKING IT DOWN

We’ve been talking to a bunch of amazing NZ artists about their musical journey and songwriting process. They have generously shared their knowledge, experience, tips and advice.

We are always adding to our collection of artist profiles - from the likes of No Comply, Tomorrow People, Kaylee Bell, There's A Tuesday & heaps more! These profiles are written by the artist especially for YOU - the Smokefreerockquest participants and next generation of musicans!

Words can't fully capture just how proud we are of this year's Smokefreerockquest.
From 900 entries down to the top 10, we've had the privilege of hearing so many incredible original songs.

Down here in Aotearoa we may have a small population, but we have a deep love for the arts and consistently punch above our weight on the global stage with the talent we nurture here. It’s clear that this is just the beginning of a long musical journey, not only for this year’s top 10 but for many of the performers who took part in this years Smokefreerockquest.

We will admit that we are quite tired now - but more than that, we are already feeling so pumped to do it all over again next year, the 38th Smokefreerockquest!
